We're looking for committee members and tournament volunteers! Did you know Halifax Dunbrack Soccer Club (HDSC) has a number of committees that help to shape the future of the club? Below is a list of our standing committees. This committee assists the Board in carrying out its financial oversight responsibilities by performing monitoring, reviewing and advisory functions. Committee members should have a financial background or experience.
This committee assists the board in developing, implementing and reviewing the bylaws and governance policies of HDSC. Committee members should have a basic understanding of the requirements of effective board governance and related issues of organizational effectiveness.
This committee assists in developing long-term and short-term plans for HDSC technical programs, evaluates the technical programs on an annual basis and provides recommendations to the Board of Directors. It also monitors and oversees the coaching and player development activities offered by HDSC, and drafts a yearly technical budget for consideration by the Audit and Finance Committee. Committee members should have a background in coaching and/or player development.
This committee assists the Board and its various committees in fulfilling its duty of care with respect to the safety and integrity of the operations of HDSC, and makes policy recommendations regarding risk management. Committee members should have expertise in law, financial management, or particular risk areas such as harassment, insurance or labour practices.
Summer 2024 will see the return of our annual Ratomir Tournament. This committee will plan, organize and recruit volunteers, as well as support staff to ensure everything is in place to run a successful event.
This is a new committee designed to support our community voices and establish targets and best practices for outreach to marginalized people, groups, and communities. The committee will build a successful strategy to ensure we provide and promote safe and inclusive environments for all. The Committee members will search for and pursue grant opportunities, as well as assist in developing support and funding sources for newcomers.
